Emily and I are no strangers to grief, so we know how important it is to recognize that grieving during the holidays is a normal and challenging experience. Let’s explore the five stages of grief—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—and share practical ways to cope with each stage during this festive season.
Denial
Grief often begins with denial, a protective mechanism that shields us from the overwhelming reality of loss. Denial during the holidays can take the form of putting on a brave face, concealing the pain beneath a mask of holiday cheer. It might also manifest as avoiding preparations or resisting the acknowledgment of absence.
Coping Strategies:
Acknowledge Your Feelings: Take moments to recognize and validate your emotions. It's okay not to be festive all the time.

Anger
