ASSOCIATE LICENSED MARRIAGE + FAMILY THERAPIST
Alice Davies, ALMFT
Areas of Focus
My clinical work centers on helping individuals and couples navigate the natural transitions and turning points that arise across the relationship timeline. Whether you're entering a new relationship, considering long-term commitment, growing your family, or feeling uncertain about whether to stay or leave, I offer support grounded in clarity, compassion, and curiosity.
I work with clients navigating dating, premarital preparation, fertility and family planning, relationship conflict, breakups, and separation. I also have a particular interest in supporting clients in interracial and intercultural relationships and those experiencing financial stress in partnerships, teen pregnancy and early parenthood, and consensual non-monogamy.
A core part of my work involves helping clients better understand how they show up in relationships—especially when navigating communication challenges, codependency, or differing attachment styles. Together, we’ll explore your relational patterns and build tools to move forward with more intention, confidence, and connection. Regardless of your background, identity, or relationship structure, I’m here to support your growth and resilience.
My Approach
I believe that relationships are fundamental to our emotional well-being. Just like food, water, and shelter, meaningful connection is essential to living a fulfilled life. I take a relational and systemic approach to therapy, exploring how your environment, relationships, and lived experiences influence your mental health.
In my work with clients, I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help you better understand and express your emotional needs—especially in moments of conflict or disconnection. I also incorporate principles of Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to help you identify what’s already working, tap into your inner strengths, and build on the hope and resilience you already carry. This blend allows us to hold space for your emotional experience while focusing on practical strategies for change.
I am trained in both Level 1 and Level 2 of the Gottman Method and certified in Prepare-Enrich’s pre-marital counseling program, which I integrate into my work with couples seeking to strengthen their connection, deepen intimacy, and build long-term strategies for a successful relationship.
Who I Work With
I work with individuals, couples, and families across a variety of relationship types—including traditional partnerships, chosen families, and non-traditional or open relationships. I’m committed to creating an inclusive, affirming space for people of all identities, cultures, and lived experiences.
As an Asian American therapist, I highly value working with clients from the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and understand the importance of cultural context in healing and growth.
Whether you’re coming to therapy on your own, with a partner, or with a family member, I’ll meet you where you are. I tailor my approach to your specific needs, honoring the unique context of your relationships, identity, and culture.
What to Expect
Therapy with me begins by building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a space where you feel safe to be your authentic self—not just in our sessions, but in the rest of your life, too.
You can expect a collaborative, compassionate environment where your experiences are heard and validated. I’ll offer guidance, ask thoughtful questions, and share tools to help you create meaningful change. Together, we’ll work toward sustainable growth rooted in self-awareness, intentionality, and deeper connection.
